Biographic Note – Dr. Josef Caruana
Josef Caruana is a curator in the Prehistoric Sites Department within Heritage Malta, a position he has held since 2015. He studied for his B.A.(Hons) in Archaeology at the University of Malta, whilst he read for his M.Sc. in Biomolecular Archaeology and Ph.D. in Genetics at the University of Manchester. His research interests include prehistoric production and economic systems, prehistoric food, paleogenetics and the application of GIS in a cultural heritage setting. He has authored several publications including the Heritage Malta Official Guide to Tarxien Temples.
