Knights' Period (HND)

By the end of this module, students will have an in-depth knowledge of the religious military order of the Knights of St John. The purpose of this module is to familiarise students with the origins of the order in Jerusalem and its rule over the Maltese Islands. Under the Knights, Malta was meticulously transformed into a bulwark of Christianity against the Ottoman Empire. During their rule, the Knights of Malta left behind a rich legacy of history, fortifications, buildings, artefacts, and art.
